Painting During Lockdown

 

I’m always on the lookout for willing life models, and being stuck at home during lockdown with grownup children returning from their cancelled lives was too good an opportunity to miss. I decided weeks ago to try and use this strange time to make a painting about family, the complete absence of social distancing going on at the moment with everyone at home, and of my four children as separate individuals but also as one fantastic friendship unit. They have had an extended Mahjong game going on in our kitchen during lockdown that I’ve been drawing, and I’ve now started to make a large painting of the four of them. Here are some progress shots:
